HISTORY RESOURCES SURVEYS
Historic resources surveys identify and document historic properties within a designated area and are a fundamental tool for historic preservation planning. The information gathered in surveys can be used to help planners to make informed decisions around development and land use, to identify properties or districts for local landmark designation or National Register listing, and to educate the public. Matching grants for historic resources survey are available through National Park Service for communities that participate in their Certified Local Government (CLG) program.
RHC assists municipalities in all aspects of the survey process, including research, field work, photography, and the preparation of the final survey report.
